In honor of our son, and the promises we made to him, our family founded The Gavin McClain-Be Kind Fund. We will focus on providing scholarship to a graduating Hudsonville High School Senior who has faced extreme challenge and adversity yet fought through and kept going; outdoor sportsmanship for children with disabilities/illnesses and Purple Heart military veterans; and Osteosarcoma research for finding a better treatment. Heartbreakingly, there has not been any advancement in treatment for Osteosarcoma in 40 years. <<<Read that again - 40 YEARS!
Gavin deserved better. Osteosarcoma treatments NEED better. And that’s exactly what our family intends on doing – making it better.

Gavin McClain-be kind scholarship
We were able to award the very first Gavin McClain-Be Kind Scholarship on May 9th, 2022! Yearly, this scholarship will be awarded to a Hudsonville High School graduating Senior that has persevered through adversity and extreme challenge or illness. Congrats to this year's recipient!
